leatt-chest-protector-4-5-hybrid-pro-jr-kids-black
Leatt Chest Protector 4.5 Hybrid Pro Jr – Kids – Black

For young racers who need more than chest and back cover, the Leatt Chest Protector 4.5 Hybrid Pro Jr adds certified shoulder guards to Leatt's junior hybrid layout. The result is Level 2 at chest and back, Level 1 at the shoulders and a protection score of 16 points, the highest Leatt quotes for a junior chest protector in this group.

The black Pro Jr combines a hard-shell chest plate with ventilated FlexMesh Pro and a soft 3DF foam back, and it weighs 0.92 kg, which keeps it manageable for kids on full race days.

Key Features

Chest EN 1621-3 Level 2, back EN 1621-2 Level 2

Integrated shoulder guards certified to EN 1621-1 Level 1

Hard-shell FlexMesh Pro chest with soft 3DF AirFit back

Flex joints for 3D movement and close fit

Adjustable straps for secure positioning

BraceOn system for Leatt neck braces

0.92 kg, 16 protection points according to Leatt

Shoulders Included

The difference to the regular 4.5 Hybrid Jr is the shoulder protection. Leatt certifies the shoulder guards to EN 1621-1 at Level 1, while the chest (EN 1621-3) and back (EN 1621-2) keep their Level 2 ratings. Leatt describes the integrated shoulder protection as a confidence boost for aggressive riding, which suits kids who already race or ride fast tracks.

Materials and Build

A hard shell over light, ventilated FlexMesh Pro impact protection covers the chest. On the back, soft and ventilated 3DF impact foam forms to the shape of the body. According to Leatt's material data, the protector contains 55% HDPE, 30% EVA 3DF AirFit impact foam, 10% polyester for straps and mesh and 5% buckles, adjusters and fasteners.

Flex joints and soft foams allow the protector to flex in three dimensions, so the added shoulder guards do not lock the rider into a stiff shell.

Leatt's Own Rating

Leatt gives the 4.5 Hybrid Pro Jr 16 points on its total protection score. The score is a manufacturer rating that helps you compare Leatt's junior models: the same hybrid without shoulder guards is rated at 12 points.

Fit and Sizing

Adjustable straps hold everything in place, and the Pro Jr is available in S/M and L/XL. Leatt does not list body heights for these two sizes, so we recommend a fitting with the jersey and neck brace your child will ride in.

Neck Brace Integration

The BraceOn system provides a seamless neck brace fit for Leatt braces, so the shoulder guards and brace work together rather than competing for space.

Paperwork

The manual, the EU type certificate and the declaration of conformity for the 4.5 Hybrid Pro Jr are available from Leatt, and the protector arrives in plastic-free packaging.

What you should know

The shoulders are certified at Level 1, not Level 2. With 0.92 kg the Pro Jr is heavier than the 740 g 4.5 Hybrid Jr without shoulder guards, which some younger riders may notice. Leatt names no height range for S/M and L/XL.

Colour

Black gives the Pro Jr a serious race look and works with every team kit. On a child's protector that sees plenty of mud and roost, the dark finish keeps it looking presentable longer between cleanings.

Specifications

Model

Chest Protector 4.5 Hybrid Pro Jr

Fit

Kids

Protection zones

Chest, back and shoulders

CE certification

Chest EN 1621-3 Level 2, back EN 1621-2 Level 2, shoulders EN 1621-1 Level 1

Construction

Hard-shell FlexMesh Pro chest, 3DF AirFit soft foam back, shoulder guards

Material

55% HDPE, 30% EVA (3DF AirFit) foam, 10% polyester, 5% buckles and fasteners

Weight

0.92 kg

Sizes

S/M, L/XL

Neck brace

BraceOn system

Leatt protection score

16 points (manufacturer rating)

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/leatt-chest-protector-4-5-hybrid-pro-jr-kids-black__1.png?v=1793445258
