How to measure your helmet size correctly: To find the right helmet size, measure your head circumference with a flexible tape measure.
It is important that the tape measure runs around the widest part of the head – only then will you get a correct result.
Place the tape measure at the front, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows, and run it along the sides above the ears.
At the back, the tape must run over the largest part of the back of the head (not too low on the neck). The tape may run slightly at an angle – what matters is that it sits all the way around the largest points of the head.
Make sure the tape measure sits snugly but does not dig in. Measure 2–3 times for the most accurate result. You can then compare the measured value in centimetres (cm) with our size chart.
Tips for an accurate result
- Keep hair flat (e.g. do not measure over a voluminous hairstyle)
- Keep the tape horizontal, i.e. along the largest circumference
- Do not measure too loosely
- For values between two sizes:
→ usually choose the larger size (depending on helmet model / fit)
Important note on fit
The right helmet should fit firmly without causing uncomfortable pressure points.
A new helmet may feel a little tighter at first, as the inner lining adapts slightly over time.

Shell & Safety Construction
The R1R's tricomposite shell integrates carbon fibre, aramid and fibreglass into a single high-density structure. This combination is the same material philosophy trusted in top-level racing: carbon delivers stiffness and energy distribution, aramid adds tear resistance, and fibreglass provides controlled deformation under impact. The result is a shell that exceeds ECE 22.06 requirements while keeping weight to around 1,450 g in size M — a genuine advantage over the course of a long trackday or touring stint.
The double-D ring retention system provides a secure, fuss-free fastening that is the first choice of racing riders worldwide for its reliability under impact.
Visor System
KYT's rototranslation visor mechanism follows a combined rotational and translational path as it opens, keeping the seal tight at all intermediate positions and eliminating the draughts that plague simpler pivot designs. The metal racing lock holds the visor firmly closed at speed and withstands the vibration levels common on track. Tool-free visor removal means a clear-to-tinted swap takes seconds in the pits. The included PINLOCK MaxVision 70 insert eliminates fogging without restricting the wide field of vision the large aperture provides.
Hydrocool Interior & Comfort
The Hydrocool liner wicks moisture and heat away from the skin quickly, keeping the riding environment dry and comfortable even during hard, concentrated laps. All interior components are fully removable and machine washable. The quick-release cheek pads are designed specifically to assist emergency responders in removing the helmet safely, an important safety detail that aligns with racing medical protocols.
Ventilation & Aerodynamics
Multiple intake vents channel fresh air through the shell and across the rider's head, reducing heat build-up without introducing turbulence that would unsettle the helmet at higher speeds. The aerodynamic profile has been shaped to remain stable and planted on the motorway or the back straight — less buffeting means better concentration and reduced fatigue.
