Developed directly from K-Tech's race-proven DDS Pro platform, the DDS Lite shock absorber brings genuine circuit-grade suspension performance to the Kawasaki ZX-10R and ZX-10RR for model years 2016 to 2020. Built around CNC-machined components and K-Tech's renowned DDS (Dynamic Damping System) architecture, it delivers the kind of precise, repeatable damping control that separates podium finishers from also-rans — and it remains fully upgradeable to full Pro specification whenever your programme demands it.
Key Features
- 4-way adjustability covering compression, rebound, spring preload and ride-height length — all the controls a serious track rider needs in one unit.
- 32-click compression damping adjustment for dialling in the exact feel through braking zones and mid-corner compression.
- 32-click rebound damping adjustment to control chassis recovery and maintain traction on exit.
- Manual spring preload adjustment for flexible setup across rider weights and circuit demands.
- Length adjustment for fine-tuning chassis geometry and ride height without additional components.
- CNC-machined aluminium construction throughout for maximum rigidity, dimensional accuracy and long service life.
- DDS Technology with integrated potentiometer mounting points — ready for data-logging when you step up to full electronics.
- Upgradeable from Lite to Pro specification: add hydraulic preload adjustment and the Pro bypass valve at any time without replacing the entire unit.
- Wide range of spring rates available to suit rider weight and track surface.
Racing Architecture, Road-Legal Refinement
The DDS Lite shares its core internals with the DDS Pro — the same damper body, the same 35 mm RCU housing diameter, the same 12 mm damper rod and the same DDS valving philosophy that K-Tech developed through years of Superbike and Superstock competition. What the Lite omits is the hydraulic preload adjuster and the dedicated bypass valve; everything else is identical. That means you are not buying a compromise — you are buying a clear upgrade path. Start with the Lite, learn the platform, and bolt on the Pro components when lap times start to matter more than budget.
At the track, the 32-click compression and rebound ranges give crew chiefs and self-setup riders alike enough resolution to respond meaningfully to every circuit condition, from the hard-braking, technical layouts that suit the ZX-10R's character to fast, flowing tracks where chassis composure under load is everything. On the road, the same adjustability translates to a shock that works correctly for your weight and riding style rather than a factory compromise designed for an average rider on an average road.
Setup at a Glance
K-Tech's recommended baseline settings provide an excellent starting point: 12 clicks from full closed on both compression and rebound, 12 mm of spring preload, and a 4 mm RCU ride-height adjustment range. The spring series is 55-155, the stroke is 55 mm, and the unit is set at 100 N / 5.00 bar charge pressure from the factory. From that baseline, the 32-click ranges give you the resolution to make meaningful changes in increments rather than hunting blindly across an ambiguous dial.
Installation requires specialist tools and techniques. K-Tech recommends fitting by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre to ensure correct setup and maximum safety.
