The FTRDU016R is configured specifically and exclusively for reverse shift pattern — first gear up, all subsequent gears down. This layout is standard in Grand Prix racing and widely adopted on track days because it aligns shift direction with the natural forward weight transfer under braking. Riders accustomed to the GP pattern will find the lever throw, geometry and ball-bearing pivot perfectly tuned for that purpose. There is no provision for standard shift pattern on this unit; riders who require both configurations should consider an alternative LighTech variant.
