Construction & Materials

BST builds the GP TEK to a standard that goes well beyond conventional aftermarket wheels. The rim itself is laid up from pre-preg carbon fibre — the same process used in top-level motorsport — delivering a consistent, void-free laminate with predictable mechanical behaviour under load. The hub is CNC-machined from 6082 T6 aluminium alloy, a grade selected for its combination of high tensile strength and excellent corrosion resistance. Every fastener on the wheel — inserts, bolts and nuts — is machined from Titanium Grade 5, keeping the assembly as light as possible while meeting the extreme demands of competitive riding. The inner spacer is also carbon fibre, replacing heavier metal components and contributing to the wheel's remarkable overall mass figure.

Load Ratings & Performance Data

Despite its featherweight construction, the GP TEK front wheel is rated for serious structural loads. The 3.5-inch variant carries a radial load rating of 275 kg; the 3.75-inch variant is rated to 327 kg. Both sizes share a static load rating of 330 lbs / 150 kg, a cornering load rating of 783 Nm and a torsional load rating of 908 Nm — figures that demonstrate the rigorous engineering behind the carbon and aluminium structure.
