Construction & Engineering

BST's GP TEK range represents the pinnacle of the brand's carbon wheel technology, designed from the outset for competition. The rim is laid up from pre-preg carbon fibre — the same process used in aerospace and Formula 1 — ensuring consistent fibre orientation and void-free consolidation that cheaper wet-laid or filament-wound processes simply cannot match. The 6082 T6 aluminium hub is machined from billet to tight tolerances, providing the precise bearing seat geometry that a performance wheel demands.

Hardware is exclusively Titanium Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V), which offers roughly 45 per cent of the weight of steel at comparable tensile strength. Combined with the carbon inner spacer, every component choice reflects a single-minded focus on reducing mass without compromise to structural integrity.

Performance at the Track

Reducing unsprung and rotational mass at the front wheel pays dividends across an entire session. The wheel accelerates and decelerates more readily, the front end responds with greater immediacy to steering inputs, and tyre feedback through the bars is cleaner because the wheel itself is not masking chassis signals with its own inertia. At 1.7 kg, the GP TEK front wheel is among the lightest options available for the RSV4 platform, making it a genuine performance upgrade rather than a cosmetic one.
