Construction and Safety

The SM51A is solid-machined from Ergal 70/75, a high-grade aluminium alloy selected for its outstanding strength-to-weight ratio and resistance to fatigue under cyclic load. Rather than relying on a cast or welded construction, Bonamici cuts the handlebar directly from billet stock — eliminating internal voids and grain inconsistencies that can compromise structural integrity over time. The result is a handlebar that withstands the stresses of hard braking, kerb impacts and sustained high-speed vibration without flex or deformation.

Two dedicated mounting points at the forks and two at the handlebar bar-end zones work in concert with the anti-slip safety system to lock the bar firmly in place under load. This four-point retention philosophy is drawn directly from Bonamici's racing programme, where handlebar movement under braking is simply not an option.

Geometry and Rider Benefit

The 15 mm rise and 6.5° downward sweep are carefully chosen values, not arbitrary styling cues.
