The Ducati Panigale 1199 is defined by its relentless pursuit of low weight and direct mechanical communication — and TGP MotoRacing's Hyperdisc aluminium clutch plates take that philosophy straight into the heart of the wet clutch pack. Replacing the factory steel intermediate plates with coated aluminium discs that weigh approximately one third as much, the Hyperdiscs are a precision-engineered upgrade proven on both road and circuit.
Key Features
- Coated aluminium intermediate plates weigh roughly one third of the OEM steel equivalents, directly slashing rotational mass in the clutch pack
- Faster engine rev response and sharper throttle pick-up from reduced drivetrain inertia
- Reduced rear-wheel hop under aggressive downshifts for a more composed, controllable rear end
- Improved corner-entry handling through lower gyroscopic forces generated by the lighter rotating assembly
- Optimised heat dissipation across the clutch pack for consistent feel under sustained sporting or track use
- Supplied as a complete set of 10 aluminium intermediate plates, sized exactly for the Panigale 1199 wet clutch
Engineering Benefit: Reduced Rotational Mass
Every kilogram of rotating mass removed from the drivetrain delivers a disproportionate gain in throttle response and acceleration. By substituting the OEM steel plates, the Hyperdiscs reduce the moment of inertia in the clutch pack to a level previously reserved for full race builds. The result on the Panigale 1199 is an engine that revs with noticeably greater freedom, a clutch that engages and releases with greater precision, and a rear end that tracks more faithfully through fast changes of direction.
Road and Track Performance
At road pace the difference is immediately apparent when rolling on the throttle out of slow corners — the drivetrain feels more alive and the power delivery more linear. On track, where the clutch is subjected to repeated high-temperature cycling, the Hyperdiscs maintain a consistent friction interface. The reduced rotational mass also contributes to the gyroscopic stabilisation effect being lower, which lets the front wheel turn in more freely and gives the rider greater confidence at corner entry. For maximum durability and clean clutch separation, TGP MotoRacing recommend pairing the Hyperdiscs with new or near-new friction plates.
Important Safety Notice
These plates are designed exclusively for the wet (oil-bath) clutch fitted to the Ducati Panigale 1199, 1199 S and 1199 R. They are not compatible with Panigale variants equipped with a dry clutch. Always verify your specific model's clutch type before ordering.
