Where the Superquadro engine demands absolute clutch precision, the TGP MotoRacing Hyperdiscs deliver it. These coated aluminium friction-disc replacements slash the rotating mass inside the Panigale 1299's wet clutch pack, sharpening throttle response off corner exits and calming rear-wheel chatter under hard trail-braking — exactly the gains that matter on track.

Key Features

  • Replaces the standard steel intermediate plates in the wet clutch with ultra-light coated aluminium discs, dramatically reducing rotational inertia
  • Faster acceleration through corners as the reduced flywheel effect lets the Superquadro's torque translate directly into forward drive
  • More precise turn-in response — lower gyroscopic forces mean the chassis pivots with less resistance
  • Reduced rear-wheel hop and stamp under aggressive downshifts, giving greater confidence when braking deep into corners
  • Optimised heat dissipation across the clutch pack for consistent clutch feel even under sustained track use
  • Direct carry-over construction from the proven Panigale 1199 fitment — identical dimensions ensure a perfect drop-in fit

Engineering Background

The standard Ducati Panigale 1299 wet clutch runs steel intermediate plates. Steel is robust, but its density means the clutch pack carries significant rotating mass. On a motorcycle built around the high-revving, high-torque Superquadro twin, that inertia blunts the very character the engine is designed to deliver.

TGP MotoRacing's Hyperdiscs swap those steel plates for precision-machined, coated aluminium discs. The geometry — outer diameter, spline count, pack height — remains exactly as Ducati specifies, so fitment is straightforward and clutch basket geometry is unaffected. What changes is the mass. With the rotating inertia substantially reduced, every input from your right hand becomes more immediate, and the rear end sits more composedly during the kind of late, hard braking that defines a fast lap.

Track Performance in Detail

Riders pushing a Panigale 1299 at circuit level will notice the benefit most on power-down out of slow corners: the lighter clutch pack allows drive to build more progressively, reducing the abrupt rear-tyre loading that can unsettle the chassis. Combined with the reduced gyroscopic effect, the bike rotates through the apex with noticeably less effort. Under engine braking — where the 1299's strong compression character can cause the rear wheel to skip — the lower inertia absorbs and releases energy more smoothly, translating into a more planted feel and greater confidence to brake later.

Fitment and Compatibility

These Hyperdiscs are engineered specifically for the following models:

  • Ducati Panigale 1299 (2015–2018)
  • Ducati Panigale 1299 S (2015–2018)

Clutch type: wet / oil-bath clutch only. These discs are not compatible with Ducati Panigale models equipped with a dry clutch. Please verify your specific model's clutch type before ordering.

Installation Recommendation

For the best results and longest service life, pair the Hyperdiscs with new or near-new friction plates. Fresh friction material ensures clean disengagement, positive drive take-up, and consistent performance under the high thermal loads generated in track use.
