Accossato's AGD224 answers that with a silver lever in the original form, listed for the later YZ450F across 2008 to 2021.

Key Features

Front brake lever in the original form for the Yamaha YZ450F

Accossato lists the AGD224 from 2008 to 2021

Silver finish

Right-hand side of the handlebar

An original spare parts type, priced for repairs rather than tuning

Accossato reports better resistance after damage or a fall

One lever supplied

No German ABE or test mark on file; listed for racing and competition

Construction and Material Quality

The AGD224 reproduces the brake lever this YZ450F already carries from the factory across this later run, which is the whole idea behind Accossato's original spare parts type: match what is already there and price it for a repair rather than an upgrade. The firm states that its production method leaves the finished lever more resistant once it has already absorbed an impact. Silver is the colour listed for this fitment, and nothing further about the material is published.

Surviving the First Lap

Most crash damage on a YZ450F happens in the opening seconds of a race rather than later once the field has spread out, and a lever bent in a first-corner tangle is one of the more forgivable costs of racing close. Riders who keep a spare in the van rather than hoping to avoid contact tend to make the second moto regardless of how the first one ended, while those who do not are left watching from the sidelines until someone can lend them a part. Fit the AGD224 with the pivot cleaned and lightly greased, then check the brake finds a firm point at a standstill before the next start.

Fitment and Compatibility

Checking the frame number against Accossato's own date ranges matters here, since the earlier AGD112 is the correct brake lever for a YZ450F built before this later run began. On the clutch side, either the AGS130 or the AGS294 may apply depending on exactly when the bike left the factory. A tuning option for this fitment is listed under B8265 and C7266.

Road Approval

No approval paperwork was supplied with the AGD224, so no German ABE and no test mark can be quoted for it, and the lever is listed for racing and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

One silver AGD224 front brake lever.

Specifications

Type: Replacement brake lever, original type

Part number: AGD224

Position: Front brake, right handlebar

Lever colour: Silver

Pieces: 1

Fitment: Yamaha YZ450F (2008–2021)

Road approval: None documented, track use only

Check: Compare with your original lever before ordering

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/AGD224_45e811dd-7a2e-4117-88a6-0d0f38d5b960.png?v=1791119957
