Get that right first, because a tilted reservoir spills as soon as the cap comes off. Then protect everything below it. A folded towel over the tank and another over the headlight surround will catch drops, and a bowl of clean water within reach lets you rinse off anything that lands on paint, which brake fluid attacks. If the fluid is due, the order is simple: open, change the fluid as the owner's manual describes or let a workshop do it, set the level between the marks, fit the TS004, and do the fixings up gently. Keep the reservoir open for as little time as possible, since brake fluid absorbs moisture. A new cap on old fluid would only look like maintenance.
