In the first laps a fresh front tyre offers plenty of grip and the rider brakes hard with confidence; by half distance the rubber has worked hard and the feel is different. Accossato's RA002 lets a Panigale 959 rider respond to that without coming in. Built for the 959 of 2016 to 2019, it pairs a folding brake lever with a 90-degree remote adjuster, and the adjustment is a job for the left hand, so the right never has to leave the twistgrip.

Key Features

Folding brake lever with remote adjuster, Panigale 959, 2016 to 2019

Setting changed on the move with the left hand

Holder in 35 mm or 60 mm

On the original brake master cylinder

Blade colours: black, blue, gold, green, orange, red, silver

RST or NRST blade

Machined aluminium, black anodised base

No German ABE documented, for track use

Construction and Material Quality

An anodised black base at the pivot, a coloured blade that can fold on its hinge, aluminium throughout: the lever itself follows Accossato's folding pattern. It is paired with the 90-degree remote adjuster, whose holder you select in 35 mm or 60 mm, and the blade comes in seven colours, with the RST lightening cut-out or without. The company behind it was founded in 1969 in Moncalieri, near Turin, to build competition motorcycles.

The Front Tyre at Half Distance

As a race goes on, a tyre that has been worked hard behaves differently from a fresh one. Riders often describe it as less support at the moment of hardest braking, or a front end that asks for a gentler first squeeze. At the same time the rider has learned the conditions and wants to keep the Panigale 959's lap times up. Many respond by moving the lever a little further out, so the initial bite comes more progressively.

On a Panigale 959, the RA002 lets that decision wait until it is needed. There is no reason to compromise the setting at the start to suit the end; set it for the early laps, and adjust on a straight once the tyre starts to tell you something. The remote adjuster is not a fix for a worn tyre, but it lets the rider match the brake to the tyre as it is now. If the tyre finally lets go, the hinged blade gives the lever a chance to survive the fall.

Fitment and Compatibility

For the RA002, Accossato's list gives the Panigale 959 from 2016 to 2019, with the lever mounted on the original brake master cylinder. The LV013 and LV015, Accossato's folding brake and clutch levers without the remote adjuster, cover the same model years.

Road Approval

Sold
