Let the clutch out abruptly and the driveline takes up with a jolt you feel through the seat, and with this much pull available low down, the rear tyre can also step out of line on a dusty or damp surface. The remedy is a slow, even release through the friction zone, and that is easiest when the zone falls in the part of the lever travel your fingers control most finely. Use the adjuster to bring the blade in until the clutch begins to engage with your fingers slightly curled rather than stretched flat. The long blade, made in blue, green, orange and gold, adds leverage and so lightens the pull, a real help in slow traffic on a heavy machine.
