A skipped gear does mean a bigger drop in revs, though, so the clutch has to come out a little more slowly and deliberately to avoid a lurch. That is work for the fingers rather than the whole hand. Set the ESS014 so that the clutch begins to engage while your fingers are still bent, and the controlled release comes naturally. The long blade, with its lighter pull, is a sensible choice on the GSX1250F, a bike that is often ridden for hours at a stretch.
