On every version the hub is black; it is where the lever pivots and where the reach adjuster sits. The blade is anodised in the colour you pick. An anodised surface is hard and does not peel, and on a bike like the RV200 that often stands outside by the sea or on a city street, that matters more than a shiny coat of paint would. Ride where you can be seen, away from the kerb, ease off as you approach a junction where a car is waiting, and watch its front wheel rather than the driver's face, because a turning wheel is the first sign of movement. The lever's part is to be ready. With a car poised to pull out, rest two fingers on the blade and take up its free travel, so braking starts the moment that wheel moves.
