Snatching at the lever skips the first stage, dumps the load onto the front tyre in one go and unsettles a long machine like the Hayabusa. The whole sequence depends on the fingers arriving at the blade without searching for it. With the adjuster set so that the lever rests under the first finger joints, the opening touch can be as delicate as it needs to be. Length plays its part too: the long blade places the fingertips further from the pivot, so the same pressure at the master cylinder asks less of the hand, which is welcome when a hard stop comes after hours in the saddle.
