The lever then has to be where those relaxed fingers can find it. On the V7 II Racer, the clip-ons place the grips low and forward, so a blade set far from the bar makes the wrist bend upwards to reach it, and a bent wrist squeezes less accurately. Bring the EDF016 in until the fingertips rest on it at the first joint with the wrist in line with the forearm. If you ride with two fingers on the brake, the short blade, made in blue, gold, green, orange and silver, keeps the remaining fingers free around the grip.
