On the Z800 a lever that sits well under the fingers makes those gradations easier. Set the EDF021 so it is reached without the hand opening wide, then practise progressive stops from moderate speed, feeling the fork compress before adding more pressure. If ABS does come in, you will feel it pulse at the lever; keep squeezing and let the system work.
