Race Performance
Removing the OEM catalyst fundamentally changes how the YZF-R7 breathes. Exhaust gases exit faster and cooler, which translates directly into sharper throttle response, stronger mid-range pull from 5,250 rpm and a noticeable surge towards the 9,000 rpm power peak. The 5.2 kg reduction in unsprung and rotational mass makes the R7 feel lighter on turn-in and more responsive under braking — exactly what a circuit demands.
At 108 dB at 4,375 rpm, the CR-T produces a raw, deep racing exhaust note with no db-killer fitted. The titanium flame mesh at the silencer outlet is not merely cosmetic — it is a structural element that contributes to the sound character while maintaining the integrity of the end cap at sustained high rpm.
Build Quality & Materials
SC-Project's CR-T sits at the top of their racing catalogue and the material specification reflects that. The primary pipe and collector are fabricated from AISI 304 stainless steel — a grade chosen for its ability to withstand the thermal cycling of continuous track use without warping or cracking. Every joint is T.I.G.-welded and dressed to a consistent finish. The silencer canister is offered in either hand-laid carbon fibre or formed titanium, each delivering the weight reduction and aesthetics that serious race builds require. Metal-shielded springs handle the collector-to-silencer connection and are rated for repeated removal and refitting during race weekends.
Fitment & Compatibility
This system is designed and manufactured exclusively for the Yamaha YZF-R7, covering model years 2021 through to 2025. No adapters or modifications are required — the system bolts directly to the OEM mounting points using the supplied hardware.
