DescriptionThe whole story▼

VZ1530P is the plainest entry among Shark's Pinlock inserts: the English designation just says PINLOCK, the French line adds 70 µ, and no version code or tint is given at all. That makes the part number the one thing you can rely on when you compare it with the insert in your visor.

Key Features

  • Pinlock insert, part number VZ1530P
  • Supplier designation PINLOCK, French line PINLOCK - 70 µ
  • No version code in the list, one universal size
  • Listed weight 0.056 kg
  • Customs tariff number 3926906000

Keeping it serviceable

An anti-fog insert only works while its silicone edge seals against the visor, so treat that edge gently. Take the insert out now and then, wash both surfaces of the visor and the insert with lukewarm water, and let them dry separately before refitting. Never rub the inner face while it is fogged.

Before you order

Order by VZ1530P, and only if that is the number on your old insert or its packaging. Shark names no helmet model for this part in the price list or on its website, so we cannot confirm a helmet. The sibling inserts are different articles: VZ15058P (PINLOCK V4, clear), VZ15059P (PINLOCK V5, clear), VZ16012P (PINLOCK, clear, V1 in the French line), VZ16018P (PINLOCK V2, clear) and VZ16013P (without SH logo).

When to replace it

If fog appears between insert and visor, the seal has lost contact; if fog appears on the inside of the insert itself, the anti-fog layer is worn. Deep scratches in the middle are the third reason. Any of them means a new insert.

Fitting

Hold the insert slightly bowed, place one end behind a pin on the inside of the Pinlock-ready visor, then ease the other end behind the opposite pin. Let it straighten and run a finger round the edge to check the seal lies flat everywhere.
