Öhlins uses a piston band rather than metal-to-metal contact, which is what keeps the bore intact. Piston bands are consumables — they wear against the bore and lose their seal gradually. Jets meter fixed bleed flow and are sized in tenths of a millimetre.

Why the Original

Öhlins manufactures service parts on the same lines as production parts — there is no second quality. Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. Öhlins parts are unit-specific: a close dimension is not a substitute. Order by part number. The dimensions below are the ones Öhlins publishes for it.

Getting the Number Right

Part number 03366-10 is unambiguous; the description alone is not, because Öhlins uses similar wording across sizes. Öhlins states dimension a 12 mm, dimension b 46 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. A scored piston face means oil bypasses the shims entirely. Rebuilding a piston means keeping the shim order, because the stack is the tuning.

Fitting and Setup Service

If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 03366-10

Category: Pistons

Dimension A: 12 mm

Dimension B: 46 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/03366-10_c9b3d377-a7aa-4633-8ddd-e64c51f4b20d.png?v=1788872320
