DescriptionThe whole story▼
The K-Tech DDS Pro is a race-derived rear shock absorber built for riders who demand precise, adjustable suspension on the road and the track alike. Developed and refined through seasons of British Superbike competition and the Isle of Man TT, it brings genuine championship-level technology to the Ducati Panigale 959 (2016–2019) at a price that makes the upgrade genuinely accessible.
Key Features
- Five-way adjustability — compression, rebound, ByPass Valve (BPV), hydraulic preload and length — gives you a suspension set-up tailored to your weight, tyres and riding style without compromise.
- 32-click compression damping adjustment delivers fine, repeatable control over how the shock absorbs bumps and braking forces.
- 32-click rebound damping adjustment lets you dial in exactly how quickly the rear wheel returns to the road after a compression event.
- 16-click BPV (ByPass Valve) adjustment refines low-shaft-speed damping independently, dramatically improving tyre feedback and rear-end grip during corner entry and mid-corner.
- Hydraulic spring preload adjustment — fast, tool-free and accurate — makes corner-by-corner geometry changes practical in a paddock or garage setting.
- CNC-machined components throughout ensure consistent tolerances, long service life and resistance to the lateral loads generated under hard acceleration.
- DDS technology includes mounting points for a potentiometer, making data logging and electronics integration straightforward for those running AiM or similar systems.
Race Pedigree, Road-Ready Versatility
K-Tech engineered the DDS Pro in close collaboration with British Superbike and Isle of Man TT teams, where suspension settings change between sessions and reliability is non-negotiable. Every adjustment range is wide enough for the track yet fine enough for everyday road use — you do not need a suspension technician present every time you change your set-up. The 55–155 spring range means the correct spring rate for your bodyweight is almost certainly available, and swapping springs requires no specialist equipment.
Precision Engineering
The 35 mm RCU body and 12 mm RCU rod are sized to provide the stiffness-to-weight balance suited to the Panigale 959 chassis. The 65 mm stroke and 310 mm eye-to-eye length (with a SKU tolerance of -6/+6 mm) are matched specifically to the OEM mounting geometry of the 959, so fitment is straightforward. Both upper and lower mounts are eye-type, 23 mm wide with a 10 mm bolt diameter, compatible with the standard Ducati hardware. The factory-recommended starting settings — 12 clicks compression, 12 clicks rebound, 16 mm preload and 8 BPV clicks — give you an excellent baseline from which to begin fine-tuning.
