The JP ES 032 replaces the earlier S1000RR's rear light in the circuit so nothing is reported with a race tail fitted.

Which Generation
This part covers the RR before the 2019 redesign. BMW changed the rear lighting arrangement with the new bike and the later machines take a different eliminator.
Bulb Failure Monitoring
The cluster measures current through the rear lighting circuit. An absent assembly reads as a blown lamp and the warning stays until it is answered.
A Race Tail
Lighter, shaped for a seat pad and with no provision for lighting or a plate. It is among the first changes on any serious build.
Presenting the Load
The eliminator supplies what the circuit expects rather than leaving it open, which is why nothing appears and nothing is stored.
Race ABS in 2009
The original S1000RR arrived with anti-lock braking and traction control as standard at a price nobody could match. The whole class moved within two years.
Asymmetric Headlights
BMW gave the first RR a face nobody could mistake, and the market took most of a decade to decide it liked them.
Cheap Now
Depreciation has put the K46 generation within reach of riders who would never have bought one new, and most of them use it at circuits.
Plugged In
BMW's own connector with no adapters, fitted while the tail unit is already off the bike.
Reversible
The standard light and tail unit refit whenever the motorcycle returns to the road.
Track Only
A bike without rear lighting is not road legal anywhere in Europe.
Fourteen Thousand Two Hundred
The redline on the original bike, which was higher than most of the class managed and part of why the S1000RR felt like a different kind of motorcycle at launch. BMW has raised it further since.
An Affordable Superbike
BMW undercut the established manufacturers at launch and kept doing it, which is why so many of these exist and why so many end up on circuits once the first owner has moved on.
