DescriptionThe whole story▼
The RS 457 is Aprilia's entry to the small-sportbike class and the first RS in years aimed squarely at riders coming up rather than coming down. It arrives with a conventional ignition barrel on the yoke — and, because it shares the 660 family's electrical architecture, it takes the same JetPrime switch. JP KS AP660 is available in four finishes.
Key Features
- For the Aprilia RS 457, 2024 through 2026
- Removes the ignition block, barrel and key from the cockpit
- Around 350 g saved at the steering head
- Four anodised finishes: black, blue, red and titanium
- Solid Ergal housing with an IP69K-sealed push button
- Key Box included for the Aprilia immobiliser
Four Colours, and Why That Matters Here
Aprilia sells the RS 457 in several sharply different schemes, which is the reason JetPrime bothers with four finishes for one switch. Black (JP KS AP660) is neutral. Red (JP KS AP660 R) matches the Racing livery. Blue (JP KS AP660 B) picks up the Prismatic Dark scheme. Titanium (JP KS AP660 T) is the warm grey closest to raw alloy. All four are anodised, not painted.
Shared With the 660s
The same part number covers the RS 660, Tuono 660 and Tuareg 660. Aprilia kept the ignition mounting and connector common across the family, so a switch bought for an RS 457 will transfer to a 660 later without modification — a genuinely useful thing in a range that riders tend to move up through.
Before You Order
The RS 457 retains its immobiliser, so the Key Box does real work: the original Aprilia key sits inside it and connects to the antenna, keeping the security system intact while the lock leaves the cockpit. Nothing is coded or bypassed. Confirm the standard ignition connector is still present if the bike has had any loom work done.
Fitment and Compatibility
- Aprilia RS 457 (2024–2026)
Road Approval
None. The ignition lock forms part of the motorcycle's type approval. Closed-circuit and competition use only.
