DescriptionThe whole story▼

The BP010 brings together the 13.5 mm piston, the long-reach lever and Accossato's matching mounting bracket, so the whole thumb brake master cylinder bolts straight to the bar without any fabrication on the rider's part. It offers the firmer rear brake response of the larger piston along with the longer thumb stroke of the long lever, aimed at riders who want both qualities in one ready-to-fit kit. Like the rest of the range it targets flat track, supermoto and adaptive hand-control applications.

Key Features

  • 13.5 mm piston diameter for a firmer, more direct rear brake bite
  • Long-reach lever for a bigger thumb span and a longer stroke
  • Matching mounting bracket included for a straight bolt-on fit
  • CNC-worked aluminium body with a black hard oxidation finish
  • Suited to heavier machines and riders who prefer a firmer brake feel
  • 10 mm brake hose fitting matched to the larger piston
  • Designed to pair with the double-ended MP005 for combined pedal and thumb braking

Construction and Material Quality

This body is machined on the same CNC equipment as the rest of the family and carries the same hard, black surface oxidation treatment, but the bore is opened out to 13.5 mm to move more fluid per stroke than the smaller units in the range. The bracket fitted here is a long-lever-specific part, shaped to that lever's reach rather than borrowed from the short-lever tooling, and is bolted to the body before the unit leaves the factory. A 10 mm hose connection is standard on this bore size, carried over unchanged from the rest of the 13.5 mm thumb-brake line.

Reach and Response Together

Two variables move together on the BP010: a bigger bore behind the lever, which asks for slightly more thumb force but returns a firmer, more positive bite, and a longer lever in front of it, which spreads that same force over a longer pull and can make the firmer bore easier to apply smoothly. Buying the matched bracket with the unit means that reach is fixed from the first fitting, rather than depending on how accurately an improvised clamp sets the lever's angle on the bar. Accossato's guidance against combining a thumb brake master cylinder with a separate rear brake master cylinder on the same circuit applies here too; the double-ended MP005 exists specifically to let both work together.

Fitment and Compatibility

No motorcycle fitment list applies to the BP010; it is a universal thumb brake master cylinder intended for handlebar, clip-on or perch mounting rather than for one named bike. Before buying, check the bracket's clamp diameter against your bar, confirm the rear brake line on your motorcycle takes a 10 mm hose fitting, and make sure the 13.5 mm piston matches the fluid volume your rear brake calliper needs.

Road Approval

This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for off-road, competition and adaptive hand-control use.

Scope of Delivery

The package includes the Accossato BP010 thumb brake master cylinder with the long lever and the matching mounting bracket, finished in black CNC-worked aluminium. The fluid reservoir and brake hose are not included and must be sourced separately.
