DescriptionThe whole story▼

The weather forecast is rarely right for a whole tour, and riders of the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin often find themselves heading home in the rain after a dry start. The bike handles it well, provided the brakes behave the same on a wet road. Accossato's front pads for the CRF1100L Africa Twin of 2020 to 2026 come here in the Sintered (ST) compound, which the manufacturer designed to keep grip steady across temperatures and to work well on a wet disc.

Key Features

  • Front pads in Sintered (ST) for the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin, 2020 to 2026
  • Accossato claims constant, high grip hot or cold and good wet grip
  • Designed for touring in changing weather
  • Stable lever feel over long distances
  • Two pads per box; two boxes fill both front calipers
  • OR and EV1 alternatives for the same position
  • No German ABE on record; sold for competition

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato says the Sintered compound keeps a high grip level that remains stable at high and low temperatures and grips well in the wet. On a ride that starts on a cold morning and ends in a warm afternoon storm, that stability means the rider does not have to relearn the lever. The firm also names long service life, limited heating with reduced fade and strong stopping as traits of its pads.

The Long Way Home in the Rain

When rain arrives halfway through a trip, the first few stops tell the rider how much trust to place in the brakes. On the CRF1100L Africa Twin, sintered front pads reduce the delay that water on the disc causes before the pads bite. Ride with a little more distance to the car in front, and squeeze the lever gently once or twice to wipe the discs before you need them. After the tour, wash the calipers, dry them, and check the fluid level; fluid that has absorbed water softens the lever over time.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists this front set for the CRF 1100 L Africa Twin of 2020 to 2026, including the Adventure Sports. The front brake works with two calipers, so two boxes are needed. The rear takes Accossato's AGPP88, listed from 2020 to 2026. Before fitting, compare an old pad with the photograph and clean the caliper. Bed in the new sintered pads gradually.

Road Approval

There is no ABE and no German test certificate for this set in our files; we offer it for racing and closed-circuit riding.

Scope of Delivery

A single set of Sintered front pads for one of the two front calipers.
