DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Diavel 1260 S was the version for riders who wanted Ducati's power cruiser with every refinement on offer at the time: higher-grade suspension, a quickshifter and a more elaborate finish. Owners of the S tend to notice details, and many personalise the bike with a few carefully chosen parts. On a machine like this, the colour of each one matters. For the Diavel 1260 S of 2019 to 2022, Accossato lists the TS012, an aluminium cap for the rear brake fluid reservoir, CNC-machined and anodised in seven colours.
Key Features
- Cap for the rear brake fluid reservoir of the Ducati Diavel 1260 S, 2019 to 2022
- Designed for the original rear reservoir, as Accossato states
- CNC-machined aluminium with anodised colour
- Seven colours: silver, black, gold, red, blue, orange, green
- Also catalogued for the Diavel 1260 and the Hypermotard 950 SP
- Check fitment on Accossato's application list
- No German ABE on file; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
For the TS012, Accossato takes aluminium, machines it on CNC equipment and anodises it. The anodised layer carries the colour, so silver, black, gold, red, blue, orange and green are finishes of the metal itself rather than paint. The cap is intended for the original rear reservoir of the listed motorcycles, and on the Diavel 1260 S everything else in the rear brake stays as it left the factory. Take the opportunity to look at the original diaphragm or seal when the old cap comes off; a cracked or deformed one should be renewed.
A Colour to Suit the S
Picking a colour for a small anodised part on a Diavel 1260 S is less about the part than about the bike around it. Begin with what cannot be changed: the paintwork, the frame, the wheel finish and the engine. Then look at what has already been added. A single accent in red, gold or blue can look deliberate, while three different accents on one side of the bike rarely do. Many owners pick one colour and repeat it on two or three parts, or choose silver or black so the part blends in and only its machined edges catch the light. Whatever you choose, fit the TS012 calmly. Stand the bike upright so the reservoir is level, lay a cloth over the paint and bodywork around it, because brake fluid attacks paint, and wipe the old cap before removing it so no dirt drops in. Keep the reservoir open only briefly, since the fluid draws moisture from the air, and check that the level lies between the marks. Fasten the cap with a light hand and rinse off any spill with water straight away. Finally, press the pedal a few times with the bike at rest to confirm that the brake feels just as it did.
Fitment and Compatibility
The TS012 is listed by Accossato for the Diavel 1260 S of 2019 to 2022, in place of the cap on the original rear reservoir. Inter-Pace catalogues the same part for the standard Diavel 1260 and for the Hypermotard 950 SP. No other Accossato cap is listed for the Diavel 1260 S. Before ordering, compare the bike with the application list, and if the rear brake is no longer standard, check the reservoir directly.
Road Approval
The TS012 has no ABE or test mark that we are aware of, so we list it for motorsport and competition use.
