DescriptionThe whole story▼

Owners who keep a V7 III Special close to how it left the showroom tend to be particular about which parts they change and why, since the bike's whole appeal rests on a look that is easy to spoil with the wrong detail. Accossato's SC006 is a closed steering stem nut for it, M29x1, aluminium, anodised in eight colours including a gold that suits the model's chrome well, for the V7 III Special of 2017 to 2019.

Key Features

  • Steering stem nut, closed pattern, for the Moto Guzzi V7 III Special
  • Accossato's years: 2017 to 2019
  • M29x1 thread
  • CNC-machined aluminium, anodised
  • Eight colours: blue, green, black, orange, red, silver, titanium, gold
  • Covers the stem thread fully, unlike the open SA006
  • Fixes the upper triple clamp to the steering stem
  • No German ABE on file; for track use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato mills the SC006 from aluminium and anodises it afterwards, with eight colours on offer including orange, one more than the open SA006 for this bike. Its closed design caps the stem's thread rather than leaving it exposed, so the top yoke of the V7 III Special shows a single unbroken surface instead of a ring of visible machining. The M29x1 thread and the nut's function, holding the upper triple clamp to the stem, stay the same as on the open version.

Restraint on a Retro Roadster

A bike built around round dials, a round headlight and a simple tank shape rewards restraint in the parts added to it, and a single closed nut in a chosen colour reads as intentional in a way that a handful of mismatched anodised parts does not. Gold or silver sits closest to the standard finish, while a stronger colour such as red or blue turns the top yoke into a quiet focal point without adding anything that looks out of place on an otherwise classic-styled bike. As with the open version, fitting the SC006 means steering head work carried out to the V7 III's own torque and bearing settings.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's list for the SC006 covers the Moto Guzzi V7 III Special from 2017 to 2019. The same closed nut also turns up in our range on the Moto Guzzi California Audace 1400, the Stelvio 8V NTX 1200 and the V9 Bobber. On the V7 III Special, Accossato also offers the open SA006.

Road Approval

We hold no German ABE or test documentation for the SC006, so it is supplied for racing and competition use.
