DescriptionThe whole story▼
Made for 1-inch, 25.4 mm handlebars rather than the 22 mm diameter used on most sportsbikes, this black anodised radial brake master cylinder is forged in aluminium and sized around a 19 mm piston for dual-disc front brakes. The PRS pivot distance adjusts between 17, 18 and 19 mm, and the folding lever is offered in seven colours and two lengths, with the adjusting knob and reservoir cover finished to match. It is built for cruisers and touring machines, including several Harley-Davidson models, that run two front discs on wide handlebars.
Key Features
- 19 mm piston diameter, suitable for dual-disc braking systems
- Sized for 1-inch, 25.4 mm handlebars
- PRS pivot distance adjustable between 17, 18 and 19 mm
- Forged aluminium body with black anodising
- Folding lever available in seven colours, short or long, with (RST) or without (NRST) a lightening eyelet
- Adjusting knob and reservoir cover colour-matched to the lever
- Offset riser that reduces master cylinder bending while braking
- Stainless steel mounting screws and a zinc-plated bleed valve
Construction and Material Quality
This master cylinder starts as a forged aluminium casting that Accossato then anodises black, a finish applied specifically to the larger 1-inch-clamp body rather than the standard 22 mm units elsewhere in the catalogue. Stainless steel mounting screws, a zinc-plated bleed valve and seals made from Formula 1 compound are fitted regardless of the handlebar size, specified to handle heat cycling and ongoing brake fluid contact. An off-set riser in the mounting clamp reduces bending of the body under hard braking, and the internal shape of the unit keeps the passive stroke, the lever travel before the pads bite, cut by more than half compared with a standard radial master cylinder.
Built for Wide Handlebars and Dual-Disc Brakes
The 19 mm piston on this black anodised unit is sized for dual-disc front brake systems, where two callipers draw more fluid than a single-disc setup, and the PRS pivot distance, adjustable between 17, 18 and 19 mm, lets the rider choose between a softer or a sharper lever stroke within that piston size. What sets this version apart from Accossato's other 19 mm Ready To Brake units is the 1-inch, 25.4 mm clamp, built for the wider handlebars found on cruisers and tourers, and the fact that the adjusting knob and reservoir cover are finished to match whichever of the seven lever colours is chosen, a detail shared with the nickel-plated version but not with the smaller-bar units elsewhere in the range.
Fitment and Compatibility
Our fitment data lists 12 motorcycles for this master cylinder, including the Harley-Davidson STREET GLIDE SPECIAL (2017-2023), the Harley-Davidson ROAD KING SPECIAL (2018-2025), the Harley-Davidson FAT BOY (2017-2025), the Triumph BONNEVILLE T120 (2016-2025) and the BMW R18 (2021-2025). The Fitment tab on this page carries the full list with exact model years; check it against your own registration document before ordering, and confirm your handlebar diameter is 25.4 mm rather than the more common 22 mm. The same body is also available as a separate product with a nickel-plated finish.
Road Approval
This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.
