Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – Zontes ZT 125-G1 (2020–2026) SM276S

Sprint Filter numbers a part after the airbox it lives in, and this particular airbox is shared by six Zontes machines whose engines run from 125 to 200 cm³. The housing does not change anywhere across that spread, so the element inside it had to be drawn around the largest appetite on the list. The ZT 125-G1 sits at the opposite end of it. Whatever capacity the filter holds was specified for an engine that asks for more litres a minute than this one ever will, and the smallest machine in the group inherits the surplus without paying for it.

Capacity the smallest engine never spends

Air demand rises with displacement, and the top of this fitment list asks for appreciably more of it every minute than the bottom does. Both draw through an opening of identical size. Sprint Filter answers that with area rather than a wider mesh — roughly double the surface of an ordinary performance element, pleated into a case that cannot be made bigger. On the 200 that area is being worked. Here it is headroom, and headroom is the reason the element asks nothing of the fuelling and gives nothing back on a dyno.

What actually improves

Output on an A1 machine is fixed by its type approval, not by the panel in its airbox, so nothing dropped into this case will make the ZT 125-G1 faster. What a paper cartridge really offers is not one restriction figure but a slope: lowest the morning it is fitted, highest the day somebody finally bins it, and silent at every point along the way. A washable weave has a floor instead of a slope. Blow it through and it is back where it began, which means this machine spends the bulk of its working life near the good end of the scale rather than drifting towards the far one unnoticed.

Care and cleaning

Compressed air aimed at the clean face and worked outwards is the entire routine — the dust leaves along the path it arrived by. Where the surface has gone greasy, warm water with a drop of mild detergent lifts it; rinse thoroughly, then set the element aside in open air until every part of it is dry.
