DescriptionThe whole story▼
Few components define a motorcycle's character as completely as its front fork, and the Öhlins FGRT 231 sets an unmistakable standard. Finished in Öhlins' iconic gold outer tubes — a livery synonymous with championship-winning suspension — this Road and Track upside-down fork brings Swedish precision engineering directly to the Ducati Panigale V4, covering all model years from 2018 through 2024. It is the choice of riders who demand both flawless aesthetics and measurable performance gains, whether carving their favourite mountain road or pushing the limits at a track day.
Key Features
- Öhlins 30 mm cartridge kit delivers superior damping consistency and stability across the full speed range
- Fully adjustable compression and rebound damping for precise setup tailored to rider weight, tyre choice and circuit conditions
- Signature gold outer tubes — the hallmark of Öhlins heritage and decades of Grand Prix pedigree
- 120 mm of travel with a 10.0 N/mm spring rate, optimised for the Panigale V4's power and weight balance
- ABE type approval for Germany, ensuring road-legal fitment without paperwork compromise
- Direct OEM-position replacement: no frame modification or custom fabrication required
Design, Finish and Heritage
Öhlins has been supplying factory race teams since the 1970s, and the gold anodised outer tubes of the FGRT series carry that lineage visibly. On the Panigale V4 — itself one of the most visually striking superbikes ever produced — the FGRT 231 adds a layer of purposeful elegance that stock suspension simply cannot match. The fork is not dressed up to look like a race component; it is a race component that also happens to be road-legal. Every surface, seal and internal detail reflects Öhlins' commitment to quality that outlasts seasons rather than weekends.
Performance on Road and Track
The FGRT 231's 30 mm cartridge system separates compression and rebound circuits to give the rider fine-grained control over front-end behaviour. On a flowing road, the result is confident, communicative steering and a front tyre that stays loaded through long corners. On track, the fully adjustable damping means setup changes between sessions are quick and repeatable. The 150 mm air chamber dimension and the 04744-10 spring (04744 series) have been chosen specifically for the Panigale V4's chassis geometry, keeping the front end composed under hard braking and honest in its feedback when you begin to release the lever mid-corner.
