DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Multistrada 950 brought the family's idea into a smaller package in 2017, with the 937 Testastretta twin and a larger front wheel than the road-going 1200. For owners who like a bike to look finished, it has another distinction in Accossato's range: four different caps are listed for it. The first is the FP004, an oil filler cap with an M20x2.5 thread, machined from aluminium on CNC equipment and anodised, which Accossato gives for the Multistrada 950 from 2017 to 2020.

Key Features

  • Oil filler cap for the Ducati Multistrada 950, 2017 to 2020
  • Covers the 950, 950 S, SW and Touring entries on Accossato's list
  • M20x2.5 thread, as stated by Accossato
  • CNC-machined aluminium, anodised
  • Eight colours: blue, green, black, orange, red, silver, titanium, gold
  • Part of a four-cap set with FP007, TS003 and TS014
  • No German ABE documented; for track use

Construction and Material Quality

Founded in Moncalieri near Turin in 1969, Accossato machines the FP004 from aluminium and anodises it. The anodised layer carries the colour, and eight are offered: blue, green, black, orange, red, silver, titanium and gold. The thread, M20x2.5, is the only dimension Accossato gives, and the company says the cap fits the listed applications, the Multistrada 950 among them, and suits other motorcycles whose filler takes a cap of the same size.

Four Caps in One Colour

On the Multistrada 950, Accossato's range covers the oil filler, the clutch reservoir, the front brake reservoir and the rear brake reservoir. The four caps are not offered in quite the same colours: the FP004 comes in eight, the TS003 and TS014 in seven, the FP007 clutch cover in six. The colours all four share are blue, black, orange, red, silver and gold, so a matching set has to come from those six; titanium and green work only for some of the caps. Before ordering a full set, check which of the four your bike can take, because Accossato's years differ from cap to cap: the clutch cover is listed from 2019, the rear reservoir cap for the 950 Touring of 2017 and 2018. The oil cap is the one you will handle most often. Open it only with the engine switched off and cooled down, read the level exactly as the owner's manual of the Multistrada 950 describes, and wipe the area around the filler before the cap comes out so that no grit falls in. Clean the thread and the sealing face, add oil in small amounts if needed, and turn the FP004 in by hand until it seats, without force. After the next ride, check that the filler area is dry.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's entries for the FP004 cover the Multistrada 950 from 2017 to 2020: the 950 of 2017 to 2019, the 950 S of 2019 and 2020 with its SW and Touring variants, the SW of 2018 and the Touring of 2017 and 2018. The cap is identified by its M20x2.5 thread, and according to the manufacturer it can also be used on other motorcycles with a cap of that size. At Inter-Pace it is also listed for the Hyperstrada 821, the Monster 1200 and the Hypermotard 950. If in doubt, compare the thread of your original cap before ordering.

Road Approval

The FP004 has no ABE or test mark in our records, which is why it is listed for track and competition use.
