DescriptionThe whole story▼
CP003 is Accossato's forged-aluminium clip-on, sold as a pair and built around a two-piece metal clamp rather than a single solid ring. The clamp is made of two half-rings held by a metal bracelet, set at a fixed 10-degree inclination, and the whole assembly is forged rather than CNC-machined from bar stock.
Key Features
- Sold in pairs, forged aluminium construction
- Fixed 10° inclination
- Two-piece clamp made of two half-rings with a metal bracelet
- Clip-on can be changed without removing the fork leg
- Bracelet colour: Black or Silver
- Tube length 250 mm or 280 mm, with or without end plugs
- Fork diameter from 50 mm to 53 mm
Construction and Material Quality
Where a one-piece clamp has to be slid off the end of the fork tube, CP003 clamps around the fork with two separate half-rings joined by a metal bracelet. Accossato forges the clip-on bodies in aluminium rather than machining them from solid, and the bracelet is offered in black or silver to match the rest of the cockpit. The tubes themselves are a separate choice, available in 250 mm or 280 mm lengths and with or without end plugs, independent of the bracelet finish.
Fitting and Removing Without Dismantling the Fork
The two-half-ring clamp is the main practical difference between CP003 and a conventional clip-on: because the ring opens around the fork tube instead of sliding over its end, the clip-on can be fitted or removed without pulling the fork leg out of the triple clamp. This is useful when swapping bars for track days or when a clip-on needs to come off for other servicing. The inclination stays fixed at 10 degrees, so the only on-bike adjustment is the tube length and whether end plugs are fitted.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists CP003 for a broad range of sport and supersport models, including the Aprilia RSV4 1100, Ducati Panigale V4, Honda CBR 1000 RR, Kawasaki ZX-10 R, Suzuki GSX-R 1000 and Yamaha R1. The full model and year list is in the Fitment tab. Fork diameter must match one of the 50 to 53 mm sizes offered, and the diameter, together with the steering stem clearance, should be confirmed against the actual motorcycle before the clip-ons are ordered and fitted.
Road Approval
No inspection or approval documents, such as a German ABE, are available for CP003, so this clip-on should be used for racing and competition riding rather than on the public road.
Scope of Delivery
One pair of CP003 clip-ons in the bracelet colour, tube length and tube type selected, plus the fork diameter ordered.
