DescriptionThe whole story▼
Rivers are part of enduro in many regions, and a Beta RR 430 four-stroke will cross most of them without drama as long as the rider holds a steady throttle and picks a line over the stones. The trouble lies with the stones you cannot see. Halfway across, the front wheel slides off a rounded boulder beneath the surface, the bike stalls, and there is very little time to decide which way to fall. For the RR 430 four-stroke of 2015 to 2022 Accossato makes the B8206, a front brake lever whose blade is hinged so that it can fold forward in exactly that kind of fall.
Key Features
- Folding brake lever for the Beta RR 430 four-stroke, 2015 to 2022
- Fits the original front brake master cylinder
- Blade can fold forward on impact instead of breaking
- Shorter three-finger blade, as Accossato designs its brake levers
- Milled in Italy from solid Ergal 7075
- Blade in black, blue, gold or red on a dark base
- No German ABE documented; for off-road riding and competition
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato, based today in Villastellone near Turin, mills the B8206 in Italy from solid Ergal 7075. It uses this high-strength aluminium alloy because it wants a lever that is strong and light and can be relied upon, and it shapes the lever from the full block on CNC machines. The result is a two-part lever: a dark base mounted at the master cylinder and a coloured blade connected to it by the joint that lets it fold. On the brake side Accossato keeps the blade short, with room for three fingers.
Halfway Across the River
Riverbeds are among the worst places to drop a bike. The stones are rounded and slick with algae, the current pushes against the front wheel, and whatever you land on is anything but soft. A bike that falls to its right in the water puts the brake lever against the stones on the bottom, and a rider hurrying to haul it upright will add a few more knocks on the way. The water flowing past can even hide the damage until you try the lever.
After a dunking the priorities are well known: get the RR 430 four-stroke out of the river, deal with any water the engine may have swallowed, and check that everything works before riding on. The B8206 improves the odds that the front brake lever is not on the list of problems, because its joint lets the blade fold forward instead of absorbing the full blow. Improved odds, not a guarantee; but on the far bank, with the rest of the loop still ahead, a working front brake on the Beta RR 430 four-stroke is one less thing to worry about.
Fitment and Compatibility
The B8206 is catalogued by Accossato for the Beta RR 430 four-stroke of 2015 to 2022. Its folding counterpart for the clutch, the C7283, carries the same years in the listing. Gold can only be had on the brake lever and orange only on the clutch lever, so owners who want the pair to match choose from black, blue and red.
Road Approval
No German ABE exists for the B8206. The RR 430 four-stroke may be registered for the road, but this lever is meant for off-road riding and racing and is not approved for public roads.
Scope of Delivery
Delivery comprises one B8206 brake lever in the blade colour of your choice.
