Spark calls this the SBK version: titanium collector, Konix silencer, 3,5 kg against the 10,4 kg the motorcycle left the factory with. At 2.357 euro it is the most expensive of the three systems for this generation and the newest of the three silencers.
Key Features
- Full titanium racing system for the BMW S1000RR, 2015 to 2018.
- Titanium collector, Konix silencer, Evo2018 specification.
- 3,5 kg against 10,4 kg for the standard system.
- Can be combined with the matching dB killer.
- Racing part, not approved for road use.
What Evo2018 Means
The price list carries this article as the Evo2018 version, which is a date rather than a claim. The Konix silencer on it is the later of Spark's designs for this motorcycle, and it is the reason the system sits above the other two on price.
Against the Moto GP kit it is 600 grams heavier and considerably less loud. Against the Force kit it is 600 grams lighter and 209 euro more. It is the middle of the range on weight and the top of it on cost.
Choosing Between the Three
Spark builds this range around one problem: circuits and championships apply different noise ceilings, and a rider needs a system that passes theirs without giving up flow.
So the three articles are not better and worse versions of each other. Moto GP at 2,9 kg and 113 dB is for events that do not measure. This one and the 350 mm Force are for events that do. All three take the matching dB killer if the limit turns out to be lower than expected.
Not for the 2019 Bike
The fitment here is the 2015 to 2018 S1000RR. BMW replaced the motorcycle for 2019 with the K67, and that machine takes an entirely different Spark range — the systems listed against a 2019-2026 fitment, not these.
The numbering does not make the boundary obvious, so it is worth saying plainly: a GBM88xx article is not automatically right for any S1000RR. The year on the registration decides it.
The Collector Decides the Weight
Spark catalogues S1000RR collectors in steel and in titanium, and this system carries the titanium one. On a four-cylinder the collector is four primaries and a merge, and it is where nearly seven kilos of the saving live.
Structurally it is also the part that has to survive: Spark points to endurance world championship use as the reason its welds and sizing are what they are.
From the Paddock
The programme behind these systems ran with Superstock1000, CIV and British Superbike teams and went to the Isle of Man for the Tourist Trophy. It is a longer development history than most aftermarket exhausts have, and it shows in the number of variants rather than in any single headline figure.
Fitment & Compatibility
BMW S1000RR, 2015 to 2018. Moto GP version: GBM8805T. Force 350 mm version: GBM8803T. The frame bracket SKIT039 keeps the passenger footrest with the GBM8803T and GBM8805T systems. Machines from 2009 to 2014 need the separate SKIT019 kit.
Road Approval
None. Spark lists this system as not approved. Closed course use only.
