DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Scrambler 1100 Sport is the version of Ducati's big Scrambler for riders who like to hurry through bends, and its higher-specification suspension encourages exactly that. Freshly resurfaced country roads are a trap for that kind of riding. Road crews often spray tar and scatter stone chippings, and for days or weeks afterwards loose grit lies in the corners, at junctions and along the crown of the road. Accossato lists the PP018 rear axle sliders for the Scrambler 1100 Sport of 2018.

Key Features

  • Rear axle sliders for the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport, model year 2018
  • Accossato PP018, two protectors
  • Aluminium and plastic, black
  • Spacers, screws and the rest of the mounting parts supplied by Accossato
  • Meant to take the scrape in a slide or tip-over
  • TP090 crash pads available for the same bike
  • No German ABE on file; for track use

Construction and Material Quality

Two black protectors form the PP018, and both are made from aluminium in combination with plastic. Accossato puts spacers, screws and the other parts required for mounting in the kit. On the Scrambler 1100 Sport, they are there to take the first contact at the rear if the bike slides or falls, sparing the swingarm and the rear axle area some of the harm. Nothing can promise a scratch-free outcome, and the sliders themselves will show every fall. Replace them when they do.

Fresh Chippings on a Country Road

Loose chippings are usually announced by warning signs, often together with a lower speed limit, and both deserve respect. Slow down before the stretch begins, not in the middle of it. Keep the Scrambler 1100 Sport as upright as the road allows, brake gently and early in a straight line, and open the throttle smoothly out of junctions, since the rear tyre can step out on grit when power goes down too abruptly. Cars sweep a cleaner line with their wheels over time, so ride in their tracks rather than along the centre or the verge, where the stones collect. Keep a longer gap to the vehicle in front, which flings chippings back at you and your paintwork. At a junction, stop with your foot on clean tarmac if you can find it. Grit also finds its way into the chain and around the sliders, so rinse the bike after the ride and take a look at both.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the PP018 for the Scrambler 1100 Sport with the 2018 model year only, and we have linked it accordingly; owners of a later Scrambler 1100 Sport should check with us first. The TP090 crash pads, listed for 2018 and 2019, can complement it. The same rear sliders are catalogued in our shop for the Scrambler Icon, the Classic and the Sixty2. Once they are fitted, spin the rear wheel and look for anything that rubs.

Road Approval

There is no ABE or test certificate for the PP018 in our files, which is why it is offered for circuit and competition use.

Scope of Delivery
