DescriptionThe whole story▼
A Bonneville with a set of clip-ons or a café-racer makeover invites a faster pace, and the Street Cup of 2017 and 2018 was built in that spirit. For the Triumph Bonneville from 2001 to 2011, 2015 and 2017 to 2018, Accossato also makes the AGPA72 front pad in EV1 street/track. It is aimed at riders who hustle their twin along country lanes and who might try a trackday on a classic.
Key Features
- AGPA72 front pad for the Triumph Bonneville, 2001 to 2011, 2015, 2017 to 2018
- EV1 street/track compound, SKU AGPA72EV1
- Excellent road and amateur track grip, says Accossato
- Firmer bite for spirited riding
- Holds up through a trackday session
- OR, ST and EV2 also offered
- Two pads per box
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes EV1 as a compound with excellent grip for road riding and amateur use on track. It sits between the touring compounds and the racing ones, giving the Bonneville a firmer bite without giving up everyday usability. The maker's general claims of limited heating, slow wear and strong braking apply as well.
Café Racer Spirit
Customising a Bonneville into a café racer is a long tradition, and many owners ride their bikes in that spirit: tucked in, braking late into bends and enjoying the torque of the twin. A pad with a firmer, more immediate response suits that style. EV1 gives the front brake more bite and keeps it through a series of hard stops, whether on a winding road or during a classic trackday. It remains usable on the ride home. For relaxed riding, the OR and ST versions are more suitable.
From 800 to Street Cup
The list behind this pad is broad. It reaches from early 800 Bonnevilles, first sold in 2001, via the 900 that ran to 2011, to the special 2015 editions and the Street Cup, the café-styled model of 2017 and 2018. Bikes from 2012 to 2014 and from 2016 are not included, so check what your Bonneville has fitted if it comes from those years.
Fitment and Compatibility
Whichever of those Bonnevilles you ride, one box of AGPA72 renews one front caliper, so look at the fork before ordering. Accossato's rear plate for the same family is AGPA76, whose year list differs slightly and leaves out 2007 and 2008. Bed the new front pads in on a quiet road with a handful of stops that get progressively firmer before you ask for full bite.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or approval certificate for AGPA72EV1 in our records. It is offered for motorsport use.
