DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Stelvio NTX was Moto Guzzi's answer to riders who wanted their big adventure tourer ready for more than tarmac, with protection bars and aluminium panniers as part of the package. Gravel access roads to mountain huts, farm tracks and unsurfaced campsite lanes are where that equipment gets used, and where riders often stand on the pegs. The Accossato ESC080 is a clutch lever for the Stelvio 1200 8V and NTX of 2008 to 2016. It fits the original clutch mount, is machined from solid aluminium and lets you move the blade closer to the grip or further away.

Key Features

  • Clutch lever for the Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200 8V and NTX, listed 2008 to 2016
  • Fits the original clutch mounting
  • Reach adjustable beside the pivot
  • Short blade in blue, gold, green, orange and silver
  • Standard length about 138 mm in every colour; long in four colours
  • Anodised aluminium, black hub
  • Rigid one-piece blade, no hinge
  • No German ABE documented, for track use

Construction and Material Quality

The ESC080 is milled from a solid aluminium blank, with no welded or cast sections, and then anodised: the hub black, the blade in the colour of your choice. The hub carries the pivot and the reach adjuster. There is no folding joint, which keeps the lever simple, with no extra moving parts for dust and grit to work their way into. On unsurfaced roads, that simplicity is an advantage.

Standing Up on Gravel

Riding a big adventure bike standing up changes where the hands are. The body rises, the arms straighten, and the fingers approach the levers from above rather than from behind. A clutch lever set for seated riding can then feel far away, which matters because loose surfaces are exactly where slow, careful clutch work is needed. Before a trip, sit on the Stelvio, then stand on the pegs in your riding position, and check where your fingers fall on the lever. A setting slightly closer to the grip than you would choose for the road often suits both positions. Two fingers on the clutch are usually enough on gravel, leaving the rest of the hand to hold the bar steady when the front wheel deflects off a stone; the short blade is designed for that grip. Keep the pace smooth, use the clutch to soften the drive on loose climbs, and let the Stelvio 1200 roll in a higher gear than feels natural where traction is poor.

Fitment and Compatibility

The ESC080 appears in Accossato's catalogue for the Stelvio 1200 from 2008 to 2016, plus a separate entry for the Stelvio 1200 8V from 2012 to 2014. It replaces the stock lever at the clutch mounting of both the standard Stelvio and the NTX. Accossato's EDF016 covers the brake side for the same years. Black and red are made in the standard length only.

Road Approval

Without a documented ABE for Germany, the ESC080 is offered for track use.
