A filter swapped into an untouched airbox leaves a 1199's output precisely where it was. What changes is that the element gets inspected, cleaned and put back rather than gradually forgotten.

Care and cleaning

Dry servicing suits a dry medium. Compressed air on the clean face, pushed outward, empties the weave without wetting it, and that is the normal interval seen to. When something has set that will not blow off, a hand-warm wash with mild detergent lifts it and a thorough rinse takes the rest.
