DescriptionThe whole story▼
The ADV MultiTour 8.5 takes a different route to all-weather comfort. Instead of an inner rain liner, its base jacket is permanently waterproof in the lower half and fully vented in the upper half and sleeves. When rain comes, a lightweight waterproof top layer goes on over the shell; when the sun returns, it comes off and the jacket rides like a mesh summer jacket. A detachable thermal liner covers the cold days.
The Stealth Black/Grey version is the dark, understated way to own Leatt's top MultiTour model.
Key Features
- Base shell with laminated, fully taped waterproof RipStop lower and large mesh upper
- Detachable laminated RipStop top shell with HydraDri DRI+, 35,000 mm / 15,000 g/m²
- Detachable windproof, water-repellent thermal liner that also works as a casual jacket
- Class AA tested and certified to EN 17092-3:2020
- 3DF Level 2 protection for back, shoulders, elbows and chest
- SuperFabric reinforced high-impact zones
- YKK AquaGuard front zip, pockets in all layers
How the Layers Work
Most layered touring jackets hide the waterproof membrane inside. Leatt puts the HydraDri DRI+ protection on the outside here. The lower part of the base jacket is direct laminated and taped, so it stays waterproof at all times. The upper body and sleeves use large mesh panels for airflow. The separate top shell, a lightweight direct laminated RipStop layer, closes the mesh when needed. The thermal liner is windproof and water repellent, so it does more than add warmth.
Protection
Leatt certifies the MultiTour 8.5 to Class AA and equips it with 3DF impact protection at Level 2 throughout: the back to EN 1621-2, shoulders and elbows to EN 1621-1 and the chest to EN 1621-3. SuperFabric covers the high-impact zones of the base shell.
Comfort Details
Stretch material at the cuffs and a soft neoprene edge on the collar make long days more comfortable. The surface carries a PFC-free DWR water-repellent treatment, and the front closes with a YKK AquaGuard zip. Reflective detailing improves visibility in low light.
Storage and Hydration
Leatt has added pockets to every layer, including pockets in the base shell designed to carry the waterproof top and the inner liner when they are not being worn. A hydration pocket with strapping and routing accepts a 1.5-litre vertical bladder, which is not included.
Who It Suits
The MultiTour 8.5 suits riders who face hot afternoons and cold, wet mornings on the same trip. Because the lower body stays waterproof and the top layer goes on from the outside, you can react to a shower at a short stop without unpacking the jacket's inner layers.
What you should know
Because the mesh upper is open, the jacket only becomes fully waterproof once the top shell is on. With its three parts and full armour the MultiTour 8.5 weighs around 2,800 g, the heaviest of the MultiTour jackets. The hydration bladder is a separate purchase. Sizes run from S to 3XL. Leatt includes a 5-year warranty and plastic-free packaging.
Colour
Stealth Black/Grey is black throughout, with a bronze Leatt logo and bronze stripes on the upper arms and back, and slim grey reflective lines framing the chest. The dark base hides dirt from long expeditions. In summer the mesh upper helps to counter the extra heat black fabric absorbs in direct sun.
