DescriptionThe whole story▼
The shaped cover on the left of the engine, over the front sprocket. It is the panel a rider's left boot rests near at every stop and the one that has to come off for any work on the gearbox output.
Key Features
- Front sprocket cover in the standard shape
- Original fixings into the engine case
- Autoclave-cured carbon, four versions
- MV Agusta F3 800, 2014 to 2025
Pick a Surface That Hides Chain Lube
Nothing on a motorcycle collects more chain fling than this cover. Within a few hundred kilometres of a fresh lubrication there is a film on it, and the film dries to a crust that a rinse will not shift. Matt and raw hide that. A clear-coated cover shows it the day after a wash.
The fasteners go into aluminium and the cover is removed more often than any other part here. Torque them to the manual figure: a pulled thread in an engine case is a far worse problem than a marked cover.
It is also one of the few carbon parts here that is visible from the left of a parked motorcycle without crouching, which is part of why it tends to be bought once the bodywork is already done.
Nothing inside the cover is disturbed by the swap. The sprocket, the chain and the countershaft seal stay exactly as they were.
