DescriptionThe whole story▼

A 250 four-stroke enduro is happiest in the middle and upper part of its rev range, and in slow, tight turns that can become a trap. Let the revs fall too far on a TM Racing EN 250 four-stroke halfway round a hairpin and the engine may stall; the bike stops, and the rider is left balancing on a slope with nothing to lean on. Good clutch control prevents most of these moments. Accossato's C7283, a folding clutch lever for the EN 250 four-stroke of 2010 to 2019, is made in Italy from Ergal 7075 and shaped for four fingers.

Key Features

  • Folding clutch lever for the TM Racing EN 250 four-stroke, 2010 to 2019
  • Fitted at the original clutch control in place of the stock lever
  • Long, four-finger blade
  • Anti-break hinge gives the blade room to fold forward
  • Machined from solid Ergal 7075 in Italy
  • Dark base with a black, blue, orange or red blade
  • No German ABE documented; for off-road and competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Made in Italy on CNC machines, the C7283 is carved from a solid block of Ergal 7075, an aluminium alloy of high strength. Accossato's stated aim is a lever that is strong and reliable without adding weight. The lever has two parts, a dark base on the clutch pivot and a blade that can fold at a hinge, and the blade comes in black, blue, orange or red. The clutch blade is long, sized for four fingers, so that the pull can be shared across the whole hand in the hundreds of small clutch movements an enduro day demands.

When the Engine Stalls Mid-Turn

Riders who spend their days on tight trails aboard a four-stroke 250 usually develop a habit: fingers resting on the clutch lever through every slow turn, ready to slip it the moment the revs sag. A little slip keeps the engine in its useful range while the throttle holds a steady pull, and the bike carries on round the turn without a stutter. Over a day of riding the habit is repeated hundreds of times, and a long lever that fits the whole hand makes it easier to keep up when fatigue sets in.

When it goes wrong, the fall is slow and awkward. The engine dies, the bike stops dead with the bars turned and tips towards the inside of the turn, which on a left-hander means the clutch side. The lever meets the ground with the weight of the EN 250 four-stroke behind it. Under that load, the C7283's hinged blade can tip forward instead of breaking, so there is a fair chance you can pull the clutch in, restart and ride off. It is not a guarantee, but after a stall in a hairpin, a working clutch lever is the difference between a short pause and a long walk.

Fitment and Compatibility

Model years 2010 to 2019 of the TM Racing EN 250 four-stroke are covered by the C7283, which takes the place of the stock lever at the original clutch control. Its partner on the brake side, the folding B8206, reaches back further, to 2002. The two levers share black, blue and red; orange is only made for the clutch side, gold only for the brake.

Road Approval

There is no documented German ABE for the C7283. Registered EN 250 four-strokes are not approved for public roads with this lever; it is intended for off-road use and competition.

Scope of Delivery
