DescriptionThe whole story▼
A fall in a motocross race is often followed by a second problem: getting the bike going again. The Kawasaki KX450F of 2006 to 2018 is started by kick, and after a crash the engine has usually stalled, the bike is lying on its side and every second counts. Accossato's C7261 is a folding clutch lever for the KX450F across those years, CNC-machined in Italy from Ergal 7075, with a long blade for four fingers and a joint that allows the blade to fold forward when the bike goes down.

Construction and Material Quality
A clutch lever on a motocross bike is pulled over and over in a single moto, and in a crash it is often among the first things to meet the ground. Accossato answers both demands with material and design. The C7261 is CNC-machined in Italy from solid Ergal 7075, a high-strength aluminium alloy chosen for strength, low weight and reliability, and it is made in two parts: a dark base on the pivot and a blade in black, blue, gold or green, linked by the joint that lets the blade fold. The blade is long, with space for four fingers.
Getting Going Again
After a fall on a kick-start 450, the routine goes like this. Pick the bike up, find neutral or pull in the clutch, kick the engine back into life and pull away cleanly without stalling again in the excitement. With a working clutch lever, that takes seconds. With a broken one, you have to find neutral by feel, kick the engine over and then snick into gear without the clutch, and every slow corner for the rest of the race becomes a gamble, because stalling again means going through the whole process once more.
The joint on the C7261 is there for that moment. If the KX450F lands on its left, the blade can swing forward instead of snapping at the tip, which gives you a fair chance of picking up the bike and finding a usable clutch lever under your fingers. It cannot be promised every time. But on a bike that has to be kicked back into life, a clutch lever that survives the fall can decide whether you rejoin within a few seconds or watch the pack disappear.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the C7261 for the Kawasaki KX450F in two version groups, 2006 to 2012 and 2013 to 2018, fitted at the original clutch mount. The folding B8265 brake lever is listed only from 2013 to 2018, so bikes from 2006 to 2012 can be fitted on the clutch side alone. Gold is available only on this clutch lever; black, blue and green are offered on both.
Road Approval
The C7261 has no documented German ABE. Like the KX450F itself, it is sold for motocross and off-road competition only.
