A coned or marked shim is finished — it no longer seals against its neighbour. Two shims of the same thickness but different diameter give completely different damping. A stack combines several diameters so the curve changes progressively rather than in steps.

Why the Original

The alternative to a service part is usually a new damper, which is why this catalogue exists. Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. Where a number has been superseded, Öhlins states the replacement — we pass that on. Order by part number. The dimensions below are the ones Öhlins publishes for it.

How to Be Sure It Fits

Order under 01415-20. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. Check inner diameter 6 mm, outer diameter 20 mm, thickness 0.15 mm against what you have removed; a close size is not the same part. Öhlins holds thickness to hundredths of a millimetre because that is the resolution damping changes at. A shim is a thin, ground steel washer, and the stack of them is what generates damping.

Fitting and Setup Service

Ask us about a full service: as an authorised Öhlins centre we strip, inspect, replace what is worn and set the unit back to its specification.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 01415-20

Category: Shims

Inner Diameter: 6 mm

Outer Diameter: 20 mm

Thickness: 0.15 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/01415-20_f950251c-8c32-44bf-ac22-fccfb1f25ab2.png?v=1788873653
