Twin-tube dampers use two concentric tubes, and both are listed separately.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Öhlins part number 03472-03

What It Is

Öhlins publishes no separate dimension for this position, so the part number carries the identity. Öhlins matches tube and piston as a pair during assembly, which is why the part numbers are specific. Head and tube are matched by thread and diameter; neither is interchangeable across units. The cylinder tube is the working bore of the damper: the piston runs in it, and its finish decides how well the piston rings seal.

Original Öhlins Part

Öhlins numbers every position so a workshop can order precisely what it needs, not a whole assembly. Öhlins lists this part under its own number in the service catalogue so a workshop can order exactly what it needs. Service parts are supplied per piece unless the description says otherwise. The exploded drawing for your unit names the number; if you do not have it, we do.

Identifying the Right Part

Order under 03472-03. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. This position has no published dimension, so the part number is the only reliable identifier. The tube carries the end cap threads, so damaged threads mean a new tube rather than a repair. The tube is what the whole damper is built around: everything else references its bore.

Fitting and Setup Service

A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 03472-03

Category: Cylinder Heads

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/03472-03_904e84ab-bba2-432a-8c03-f8e6191242dd.png?v=1788872330
