DescriptionThe whole story▼

A Tracer 900 loaded for a tour covers ground quickly, and on long mountain descents with a passenger the rear brake shares much of the work. Accossato rear pad AGPP88 in the Sintered (ST) compound is intended for that. Accossato lists AGPP88 for the Yamaha Tracer 900 from 2015 to 2024. ST is designed to keep a constant grip level, hot or cold, and to bite reliably on wet discs.

Key Features

  • AGPP88 rear pad in the Sintered (ST) compound
  • Listed for the Yamaha Tracer 900, 2015-2024
  • Accossato: high, constant grip hot or cold, good wet grip
  • Consistent pedal feel on fast, loaded tours
  • Useful in rain and on long descents
  • Two pads, full rear set
  • Also made as OR

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato says its Sintered compound keeps a high and constant grip across temperatures and performs well on wet discs. For the rear of a fast touring bike carrying two people, that consistency is useful. The company's general claims, long life, reduced fade and strong stopping power, are passed on as its statements.

Brisk Pace, Full Load, Wet Roads

Two-up with panniers, a Tracer 900 still pulls hard, which tempts riders to keep a quick pace between villages. That pace has to be scrubbed off again at every hairpin, and a rear brake doing its share keeps the chassis flat instead of diving onto the front tyre. On a descent that lasts twenty minutes, the rear warms steadily; ST is designed so that the pedal at the bottom feels like the pedal at the top. Rain changes the order of things: a gentle rear first, then the front, lets the suspension settle before the bigger load arrives. For short solo commutes, OR runs more quietly.

Kit for the Journey

A rear pad set weighs next to nothing, so it can travel in the tool roll. Every few evenings, a torch aimed through the caliper shows how much friction material remains, and fresh water from a hotel hose rinses away the grime of a wet pass.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's rear listing for the Tracer 900 is AGPP88, valid for model years 2015 to 2024. Only one caliper sits at the rear, so a single box completes it. On the front wheel the matching pad is AGPA97 for the same years, and there you need two boxes because each disc has its own caliper.

Road Approval

We hold no ABE or test certificate for AGPP88ST, which is therefore sold for track and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

Two Sintered (ST) AGPP88 rear pads, a full set for the Tracer 900.
