DescriptionThe whole story▼
Owners of tall touring bikes often adapt the cockpit to their body, and on a Versys 1000 the handlebar is frequently the first thing to change: risers for taller riders who want a more upright back, or a different bar altogether. Every such change moves the levers as well. The Accossato ESK750 is a CNC-machined aluminium clutch lever for the Versys 1000 of 2015 to 2018, and its adjustable reach helps you set up the left hand properly again once the bar has moved.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Kawasaki Versys 1000, listed 2015 to 2018
- Replaces the stock lever at the original clutch mounting
- Reach to the grip adjustable
- Short, standard (about 138 mm) and long blades
- Black anodised hub, blade in one of seven colours
- Aluminium, machined on CNC equipment
- Rigid construction without a folding joint
Construction and Material Quality
The black hub is the functional core of this lever. It holds the pivot bore, around which the lever swings, and the reach adjuster, which sets where the blade comes to rest. The blade, one fixed piece from the hub to the tip, carries the colour of your choice. Both are machined from aluminium as a single part on CNC equipment and anodised, a treatment that turns the surface into a hard, dyed oxide rather than covering it, so the finish wears slowly and has no coat to peel. Without a hinge, the pull of your fingers goes straight into the clutch, and the friction point stays where you set it.
After the Bar Has Moved
Handlebar risers lift the grips and often bring them closer to the rider, and a new bar may have a different bend. Both alter the angle between forearm and lever. After such a change on a Versys 1000, two things deserve attention on the clutch side. The first is the angle of the lever on the bar: in your normal riding position, with the wrist straight, the blade should line up with your fingers rather than pointing above or below them. The second is the reach. With the ESK750, the adjuster sets how far the blade sits from the grip, so the friction point falls where your fingers close naturally in the new position. It is worth riding a few kilometres, stopping and fine-tuning the setting, because a position that feels right in the garage can feel different on the move. The long blade lightens the pull over a long day on the Versys 1000; the short one suits a two-finger technique.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the Versys 1000, Accossato gives 2015 to 2018 as the model years of the ESK750, which takes the place of the stock lever on the original clutch perch. The EDF021 brake lever is listed for the same model years, with the same black hub and colours.
Road Approval
The ESK750 comes without documentation of a German ABE. It is sold for track use.
