Seven and a half kilos. That is the difference between what this kit weighs and what it replaces on a 2021-on ZX-10R — 2,0 kg against 9,5 — and it is the largest single weight saving in Spark's entire Kawasaki catalogue.
Key Features
- Three-quarter kit for the Kawasaki ZX-10R and ZX-10RR, 2021 onwards.
- Titanium de-cat manifold.
- Force Evo silencer, 450 mm, titanium.
- 2,0 kg against 9,5 kg for the parts it replaces.
- Racing part, not approved for road use.
Where Seven and a Half Kilos Come From
The number looks implausible until you take the standard parts off the motorcycle. The section this kit replaces contains the catalytic converter, its steel housing, the heat shielding around it, the mid-pipe and the standard silencer — five heavy things bolted together, all of them made to survive a hundred thousand road kilometres and an emissions test.
Spark replaces the lot with a titanium manifold and a titanium can. Nothing in the kit has to pass an emissions test, so nothing in it is built to.
Where the Mass Sits Afterwards
Seven and a half kilos is roughly four per cent of the motorcycle's dry weight, and none of it comes from a place that helps. The standard mid-section and silencer hang behind and above the rear axle, which is the worst position on a motorcycle for mass if the aim is to change direction quickly.
The practical effect is felt in transitions rather than on a straight — a bike that stops resisting the second half of a chicane. That is a different kind of gain from a power figure, and on a machine already making the power a ZX-10R makes, it is usually the more useful one.
Not a Full System, and That Is the Point
The full titanium system for this motorcycle is GKA8853T at 2.561 euro. This kit is 1.060, and the difference is that the header stays on the bike.
For a rider who wants the weight and the noise level without rebuilding the front of the exhaust, that is the sensible half of the range. It is also the reversible one — put the standard parts back and the motorcycle is as it was.
The Same 450 mm Silencer
The Force Evo can in this kit is the same 450 mm article that sits at the end of Spark's top system. Length is what makes a racing silencer quiet without a restrictor, and 450 mm is a long can by road-bike standards.
Spark builds the Force and Force Evo shapes to sit inside the noise ceiling used by the French championship and the Endurance World Championship, and to reach it without anything fitted in the outlet.
Fitment & Compatibility
Kawasaki ZX-10R and ZX-10RR, 2021 onwards. Full titanium system with the same silencer: GKA8853T. Other three-quarter kits on this platform use different silencers — Konix Evo GKA8841T, Grid-O GKA8843T, Force Evo GKA8844T. For the earlier ZX-10R, the equivalent kit is GKA8817T.
Road Approval
None. Spark lists this kit as not approved. It removes the catalytic converter, so a motorcycle fitted with it is for closed course use only.
