DescriptionThe whole story▼
The V2 that Ducati launched for 2025 is the 890, not the 955 — a different engine in a different chassis, and it needs its own exhaust. The Akrapovic Slip-On Line (Titanium) S-D10SO8-HCHNT is that part: high-grade titanium throughout, one kilogram lighter than standard, with muffler cones whose geometry comes out of Moto3, and Euro 5+ type approval so the bike stays road legal.
Key Features
- 2.26 kg against the standard 3.26 kg: a full kilogram and 30.7 per cent less, taken from above the rear wheel
- Conical muffler shape derived from Akrapovic's Moto3 pipes, not a styling copy of it
- High-grade titanium throughout — sleeve, cones and internals
- 1.8 PS (1.3 kW) more at 11,000 rpm and 0.8 Nm more at 7,500 rpm, with the gain spread across the range rather than spiking
- Euro 5+ type approved to EC and ECE, so nothing changes in the papers
- Noise insert included, installation in about 30 minutes with no remapping
- One part covers the Panigale V2, the Panigale V2 S, the Streetfighter V2 and the Streetfighter V2 S
Why the Cone
A conical muffler gives a continuously increasing cross-section, which lets the pressure wave be tuned along the length of the can rather than at one expansion step. Akrapovic uses the shape in Moto3, where the rules leave very little else to optimise, and the geometry carried over to this slip-on rather than the look alone.
The kilogram matters more here than on a heavier machine. The V2 890 is a light, short motorcycle, and mass above and behind the rear axle is the most expensive kind it can carry.
Faired and Naked, the Same Silencer
The Panigale V2 890 and the Streetfighter V2 890 are the same 890 cc twin in two bodies. One is a full-fairing sportbike with clip-ons under the top yoke; the other is a naked with a wide handlebar and an upright seat. Underneath, the frame, the swingarm and the exhaust routing are shared, which is why one part number covers both.
Installation is quoted at 30 minutes on either. On the Panigale the lower fairing panel comes off first; on the Streetfighter the silencer is reachable as the bike stands. Neither needs remapping, and the standard unit refits without trace.
Fitment and Compatibility
S-D10SO8-HCHNT fits the Ducati Panigale V2 890 and V2 S 890 and the Streetfighter V2 890 and V2 S 890 from model year 2025. One thing to keep: the standard heat shields must be used when installing this exhaust — do not remove them with the original silencer.
This part does not fit the earlier V2 955 (2020–2024). That machine uses a different system.
Road Approval
EC type approval and ECE type approval, Euro 5+ compliant. Certificates ship with the exhaust and can be downloaded here, so the silencer is a legal replacement part for road use in the European Union.
