DescriptionThe whole story▼
At the back of the RM-Z 450, the rear brake reservoir cover takes a steady stream of roost and mud from the rear wheel, more than any other cosmetic part on that side of the bike. Accossato lists a rear brake reservoir cover for the RM-Z 450 covering 2005 to 2016, in blue, green or gold.
Key Features
- Rear brake reservoir cover for the Suzuki RM-Z 450, 2005 to 2016
- Accossato code PBK01, fitted over the rear brake fluid reservoir
- Replaces a scratched, cracked or weathered original cover
- Available in blue, green or gold
- Same part also listed for Kawasaki KX models and several Yamaha YZ models
- Accossato also lists a front brake reservoir cover and engine covers for this bike
- No German ABE on file; built for off-road and competition riding
Construction and Material Quality
This cover is shaped to the RM-Z 450's own rear reservoir, so it closes the reservoir exactly as the stock cover does. Blue, green and gold are offered purely as finish options, and each does the same job once fitted. A cover showing a deep scratch or gone chalky with age is worth replacing before the damage reaches the reservoir itself.
The Part That Takes the Worst of the Roost
Riding in a pack on a motocross track means spending long stretches directly behind another rider's rear wheel, and the rear brake reservoir cover is squarely in the path of whatever that wheel throws back, stones included. It tends to show wear well before most other covers on the bike, simply from sitting in that line of fire lap after lap. Checking it after a hard moto, rather than assuming it is fine because the rest of the bike looks tidy, catches damage before a crack lets grit reach the fluid underneath.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato names the RM-Z 450 built between 2005 and 2016 on this cover's own application list, a narrower window than some of this bike's other covers. The same cover also fits the Kawasaki KX250F and KX450F, along with several Yamaha YZ models including the YZ125, YZ250 and YZ450F, all sharing this reservoir shape. For the RM-Z 450 itself, Accossato also lists a front brake reservoir cover and a set of engine covers worth checking alongside this one.
Road Approval
No German ABE is on file for this cover, so Accossato lists it for off-road and competition riding rather than for use on public roads.
Scope of Delivery
This listing covers one rear brake reservoir cover, in the colour you choose from the options above.
